Jerome Henry (Gebo) Heil was first and foremost a believer and follower of our Lord Jesus Christ. He loved God, his family and his country in that order. His body succumbed to a lengthy illness at home on May 19, 2023. Gebo ran his race and fought the good fight. He is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior and all those who have gone before him.
Gebo was a wonderful loving husband and a great dad who was proud of his children’s accomplishments. He was an outdoorsman, a hunter, a water skier and for a time loved to shoot birds especially ducks. He loved watching sports on television which was football, basketball and NASCAR or sport if it was a high caliber competition.
Gebo was a builder by trade. Gebo was one of 10 children of his father and mother. His father took Gebo to job sites from the age of 6. Gebo learned most aspects of the building business from his father Henry Heil and all his older brothers. Gebo has had several companies and has built over 10,000 apartments and townhomes in the Houston Area. He also built townhomes in the New Jersey from 1986 – 1990.
Once Gebo relocated to Maryland in 1990 from New Jersey he began attending National Church of God under Bishop T.L. Lowery. T.L. Lowery was in the throughs of a building program to build his new church. The builder filed bankruptcy after taking a higher than completed draw. Gebo was asked to take a shell of a metal building and build a church. Gebo did complete that Church and also completed an administrative wing, curbs and gutters for land subdivided for houses and many more projects. It was the reason he said God brought him to Maryland.
After leaving for Texas in 2013 Gebo and his wife Eileen both retired. Gebo became a media church member under Jimmy Swaggart and attended all his services and 24 hour television programming through Son Life Broadcasting.
Gebo is the last of his 10 siblings to leave this earth. Gebo was extremely proud of the fact that he was his father’s 7th son (since Pop had one son from a prior marriage before marrying his mother Thelma). Gebo’s father was a 7th son. So Gebo would frequently say “ I am the 7th son of a 7th son”.
Gebo leaves behind his wife Eileen Sarah Heil, his children Polly D’Anne Heil-Mealey (husband Steven Hale) Candi Trujillo (husband Chuck Trujillo), Michael Jerome Heil (wife Wanda Kohutek Heil) and Tara Leigh Heil. He leaves the mother of his children Sandra Allen and many many grandchildren and great grandchildren. And remaining sisters in law are Jerri Heil and Audrey.
