John Merrill Cole

John M. Cole, 87, of Kingwood, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. After graduating from Lubbock High School in 1943, John spent 3 years in th United States Navy. Following his service, John spent a year at Texas Tech University. He later started and owned his own ice production company, John M. Cole and Associates, Inc, where he retired after 25 years. John was a deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood.

John is survived by his loving companion, Betty Collier; daughter, Muffie Henschel and husband Warren; grandson, Dr. John Warren Henschel and wife, Dr. Tara Henschel; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Christine Cole and wife, Jane Gordon Cole.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2014 in the Chapel of Kingwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Humble, TX.
