John F. Eccles

On February 5, 1956 Joan and Bill Eccles welcomed their third son, John Foster Eccles. John was born in Ventura, California where he would live for the next 12 years of his life. In 1968 the family traveled to Texas where John would grow up with his brothers Rodney, Billy, and Jeff, and sisters Melinda, Alma and Jacquie. In 1974 John met the love of his life, Debora Davis, and they would soon get married in 1975. John went to work for Crown Plumbing in February of 1975 and though the company made many transitions he would work at what would become ARS for 35 years. He started at the company as a plumber's helper, and worked his way up to Divisional Vice President. In 1977 John and Debbie welcomed their first child Jennifer Christine, followed by Nancy Rebecca in 1979, and John Foster II in 1981.

Everyone called him Big John, probably because everything about him was big. Obviously he was BIG in size but there was more to it than that. John had a big laugh…it filled a room. John had a big heart; his spirit and encouragement; his generosity changed lives. John had big expectations of himself, and of others. John had big hands, ones that were gentle in times of need, but hard as steel when you’d done wrong. John lived big. Everything he did, he did with fervor and he did it giving 110%. Big John was in fact, bigger than life. This is why on June 10, 2010, the Good Lord called him home.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie and his daughters, Jennifer Eccles, and Nancy Jenkins and her husband, Matt; and his son John Eccles and his wife, Jennifer; grandsons, John and Jacob Eccles; granddaughters, Kennedy and Grace Jenkins; sisters, Melinda Perry, Alma Hicks, and Jacquie Pollard; brother, Jeff Eccles; and numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins; mother in- law Anita May Vastine, and her children. He is predeceased by his mother, Joan, his father Bill, and brother, Billy and Rodney. He leaves behind many relatives, colleagues and friends that not only honored and respected him, but loved him.
