Jose brought kindness, laughter, and dedication to every shift. His warm spirit and ability to connect with everyone around him made him an unforgettable part of our team. He had a way of making the day better, no matter how challenging things got. His presence will be greatly missed, not only by me but by all of us who had the pleasure of knowing him. Will miss you buddy!!

My condolences to the Rico family. Lots of love & prayers to the whole family. I First met Jose when he hired me on J&M. Took me under his wing from day one. Hands down best manager of all time.  As the years went by, Jose became a big brother to me. He was a mentor, a brother, & that one person who will always have your back no matter what. Whether we were hanging with the J&M crew or with the family . . Nothing but good memories in his presence. He was full of life, always had positive energy, & brought out the best in everyone. May God rest his soul & watch over us; He will be missed but never forgotten.

Uncle Wow with Sebastian.  He was so excited to finally have another nephew and had plans to teach him how to play baseball.

Adelina and Uncle Wow. Jose loved being a tío and  spoiled them every chance he got. He made sure they knew how much he loved them and how proud he was.

Jose loved our managers meetings in Nashville! Always a great time collaborating, celebrating and learning about all the new things we had in store for the future.

My tió was such a kind man, so wise for his age. I remember he would drive me places and fuss at me when I opened the car door myself. He'd insist to open it for me and every single time he'd say "if a man never opens the door for you, that's not a man." And I'll take that with me for the rest of my life. From new years eve celebrations at the house to shopping sprees at the mall. I loved my tió so dearly, and it breaks my heart to accept that he's really gone. I remember the time he messaged, saying a song made him think of me. "One Headlight" by "The Wallflowers". Every time I listen to that, it makes me think of him. I'll forever miss you uncle wow. Ever since he gave me that necklace of the virgen de guadalupe, I've never ever taken it off. I've been using the " rakin' it in" wallet he gave me for my 10th birthday. I'm still trying to fix the converse he spent his J&M coupon on. The zipper is busted, but tía said there's a shoe hospital for it. I'll miss those random calls to mamí, those "embarrassing" moments where music blared, and most importantly, the voice. I hope you'll still see me when I graduate in 2030. up there in the stars with delilah.

At our Managers Meeting in Nashville, he was always the life of the party. He will be so missed.

Jose was always very kind to me. When I first moved to Houston is 2020, we became coworkers at J&M. He showed me around the city and helped me get acclimated to my new home, he even introduced me to my Barber and new friends. I will always be grateful for his friendship. Jose, surely will be missed.

Dear Rico Family, it’s my dearest condolences 💐 to you and your family on the loss of our Jose. He left us so soon and I’m heartbroken for everyone that we didn’t have more time with him. I’ll never forget how kind Jose was to me and how much fun Rita, Jose and I had back in our airport job days when I would come over all the time to hangout with Rita. We never got to eat in Chinatown one last time before he left us so soon but we definitely will in memory of Jose now. God needs Jose now and I know the heavens have new plans for him. The light is with us during this dark time. I will be praying for his soul to continue to stay safe until he makes it safely to the heavens. May Jose rest in peace 🩷🥺
