Juanita Jackson Lengefeld entered into her heavenly home to be with our Lord while surrounded by her family on September 15, 2023 in Marble Falls, TX. She was 96 years old. Juanita was born on October 8, 1926 in Levy, Arkansas to parents James Wesley Jackson and Hattie Marie Vance. She was the youngest of 9 brothers and sisters and she would tell so many wonderful stories about growing up with them. She never had a negative word to say about her childhood and frequently called herself “daddy’s girl” with a big smile on her face.
Right out of high school, Juanita started working to help make ammunition for our troops during World War II. After that, she started working at Southwestern Bell in Houston, Texas. It was there that she was introduced to the future love of her life, Frederick Carl Lengefeld Sr. After a short courtship, they married and had 4 loving children, Frederick Jr., Claudette, Marshall, and Stacy. After Frederick Jr. was born, Juanita started work as a fashion model for magazines, however once Claudette was born, she decided to stay home to be with her children. Once all of her children were grown, she started working at Chevron as an accounting clerk, and later worked as a salesclerk at Foleys Department store. Fred and Juanita also took that time in their lives to set out on big trips and accomplished visiting every state park in the United States. Sadly, in 1993 Juanita’s husband, Fred, was diagnosed with stomach cancer and passed into heaven to be with our Lord on May 11th of that year. Because of the immeasurable love Fred and Juanita shared for each other, it was difficult to think of Juanita and not think of Fred. Even though they have not been together for the last 30 years, she spoke of him every chance she got, and you would often hear her say “they just don’t make them like Fred Lengefeld anymore”.
Juanita was a woman with enduring faith in God and extremely high morals that never faded. She also adored her family and was extremely proud of each and every grandchild she had. She will also be remembered for her love of family gatherings, playing dominos with friends, dancing, and just sitting and talking. Juanita had a huge and loving heart and she touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She will truly be missed.
