Kathleen Annette Norwood passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the age of 54. Kathleen received both her Bachelors and Masters of Education degrees from The University of Texas at El Paso and has worked in education as a teacher and counselor since 1989. She enjoyed music, theater, and most other performing arts. She loved to dance and danced through life with a song in her heart. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, but somehow found a place in her heart for Fred’s Denver Broncos and The Houston Texans. She liked to cook almost as much as everyone loved to eat her cooking. She relished traveling and immersing herself in each place’s culture and entertainment, but her fondest destinations always involved water in which to swim and snorkel and a beach from which to watch and listen to the relaxing waves. She cherished her family and savored every precious moment with her children and grandchildren. Above all she loved the Lord and lived with a thankful and caring heart.
Kathleen is survived by her husband Fred Norwood, parents James and Patricia Simms, sons Kelley Norwood and James Norwood, brother Douglas Simms and his wife Valerie, mother-in-law Patricia Norwood, sister-in-law Lillian Brinkley, four beloved grandchildren, and nine adored nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister-in-law Patricia Putty.
