Patricia Ann Berry

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann (Bodiford) Berry on August 31, 2024, at the age of 80. Patricia was a resident of Porter, TX where she resided for the last 9 years with her love, Dale. She was a loving mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, they truly brought her so much joy.

She was born in Kilgore, TX on January 29, 1944, to Edgar and Golda Jewel Bodiford. She was one of 8 children, she had 2 sisters and 5 brothers. She grew up attending local schools and graduated from Smiley High School in Houston, TX.

Patricia leaves behind a loving family: her husband, Dale Favorite, her son Charles Sparks; daughters Brenda Hooker and husband Kenneth, Jennifer Neal and husband Johnnie; grandchildren Carlee and Brady Sparks, Skyler and Spencer Hooker, and Gavin and Garrison Moritz; and her brother Jerry Lee Bodiford, along with numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Golda and Edgar Bodiford; her brothers Paul, David, Jack, and Pat; sisters Ara Mae and Nolene; son David; and grandson Craig.

Patricia worked for Centel/Sprint phone company as a Telecommunication operator, where she excelled in her career with 27 years of service with the company before she retired.

In her younger years, Patricia was known for her outgoing personality and love for socializing. She had many school friends that she remained close with throughout her life. Patricia enjoyed spending time with her siblings, dancing, swimming, and attending parties on the weekends.

In her free time, Patricia loved to visit casinos and play bingo. Once she got to that casino, you might as well find a spot to sit because her eyes would light up and you knew it would be quite a while before she was ready to go. She also enjoyed watching game shows like Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud, as well as Murder She Wrote and courtroom dramas like Judge Judy.

Patricia will be remembered for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and zest for life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her with the impact she left on so many lives.

Rest in peace, Patricia Ann Berry. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We love you.

A memorial service for Patricia will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339.
