Quincy Thomas Hinton Jr. entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on February 26, 2026, in Atascocita, Texas. Having lived a life anchored in faith, devotion, and steadfast love, Tom now rests in the eternal peace and joy of Heaven.
Born on July 1, 1941, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Tom was raised with strong Christian values that guided him throughout his life. He was a faithful member of Kingwood Methodist Church, where he found fellowship, spiritual strength, and a community of believers. His faith was not merely something he professed, but something he lived daily — through quiet integrity, sacrificial love, and an unwavering trust in God’s providence.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Glynda Hinton, his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life, who passed away in 2010. Their enduring love story began in Louisiana and remained the foundation of his life. Tom often said Glynda was the only person for him, and he faithfully honored that covenant for the rest of his days. We rejoice in the assurance that what God joined together on earth has now been reunited in eternity.
He was a devoted and loving father to Chris and Tina Hinton, Ben Hinton, and Cathy Hinton Giffhorn. As a proud and cherished “Pops” to Hope and Hardt Hinton, and to Austin, Braeden, and Colton Giffhorn, Tom delighted in the blessing of family, seeing each grandchild as a gift from the Lord. He sought to model faithfulness, perseverance, and Christlike character for the generations who follow him.
Tom was the son of Quincy and Maxine Hinton, and a loving brother to Alice Hinton Tilton and her husband, Ken Tilton. He was also a dear uncle to Kerrie Tilton Warren and Jacob Tilton.
Throughout his professional life, Tom built a respected career as an attorney and landman. He authored numerous publications, contributed to the writing of House Bills, and approached his work with diligence and integrity. Yet his greatest accomplishments were not found in titles or achievements, but in the love he gave and the faith he lived. He also wrote a book, Together Forever, reflecting on his upbringing in Louisiana, meeting his beautiful bride, and the life they built together — a testimony not only to enduring love, but to God’s faithfulness through every season.
Tom will be remembered as an extraordinary man of conviction and compassion — a loyal husband, a dedicated father, a proud grandfather, and a servant-hearted follower of Christ. His life reflected the words of 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Though we grieve his earthly absence, we do not grieve without hope. We take comfort in the promise of John 14:2-3 — that Christ has prepared a place for him — and we trust that he has now heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
The family will hold a graveside service celebrating his life and his eternal homecoming at1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Highland Memory Gardens, 6325 Common Street, Lake Charles, Louisiana 70607.
