

Sophie was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, to Raymond and Catherine Cwik.
She was one of 9 children born to Polish immigrants that came to America through Ellis Island. Growing up in the era of the “Depression” Sophie only completed 8th grade and went to work at “Kem Cards”. She then helped out during the World War II by going to work for the Defense Industry.
Most of all, Sophie enjoyed being a housewife, singing country western songs and playing the guitar. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Catherine; her siblings Theodore Cwik, Delores “Babe” (Delores) Nevins, Frances Burgin, John Cwik, Helen Hornbeck, Mame (Mary) Nicalek, Stella Sioleski and Honey Ricco.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Vincent Germano; her daughters, Veronica Mack and husband David, Deborah Furdak and husband Roger, Pamela Kutchbach and husband John; her son, Wayne Germano and wife Violet; grandchildren, John Hughes, Jennifer Mack, Roger Furdak, Crystal Speaks, Justin Kutchback, Christie Kutchback, April Kutchback, Yubi Germano, Sophie Germano and Bella Germano; and great grandchildren, Aedan, Ryan, and Caitlyn.
Pallbearers for Sophie will include Wayne Germano, David Mack, Roger Furdak, Roger Furdak, John Kutchbach and John Hughes. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pastor Pool and the congregation at The First Assembly of God.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Kingwood Funeral Home located at 22800 HWY 59 North, Kingwood, Texas 77339, and a Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 11:00 am at Kingwood Funeral Home with an interment to follow.
