Susan Anderson Garrett

Susan Marie (Anderson) Garrett was born in Springfield, Missouri on February 4, 1946 and went to Heaven on March 31,2023. Susan was the eldest child of Colin Cure Anderson and Evelyn Rose Anderson. Susan was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Mike Garrett; and her parents. Survivors include her children, Nick Garrett of Kingwood, TX; Casey Garrett Collier and her husband Gary of Prosper, TX; Erin Garrett Dodson and her husband Calvin of Kingwood, TX; brother, Colin Michael Anderson and his wife Sandra of Magnolia, TX; Grandchildren, Hannah, Sophia, Emersyn Dodson and Brian and Austin Collier; Nephew, Ben Anderson and his wife Stephanie of Montgomery, TX; sister-in-law, Karla Garrett of Carrollton, TX; cousins and many friends.

Upon graduation from Robert E. Lee High School’s first graduating class in Houston, TX, Susan attended business college, training to become a legal secretary and worked many years for prestigious law firms, retiring in 2020 at the age of 74. Susan enjoyed crafts, making ornaments for Christmas, dancing like nobody is watching and cross-stitch. She also enjoyed “shopping” that always turned into more of just browsing. Although, reading and napping on a cold, rainy day was probably one of her greatest joys in life. She had a very dry sense of humor that will be missed and loved a good pun. She was a member of Kingwood First Baptist Church in Kingwood, TX. Susan was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by many.
