Vera Mae Lilley

Vera was born Dec 4, 1919 in San Jacinto Co. to Chester Thomas Ellisor & Eva Mae Rains Ellisor. She grew up in San Jacinto Co, graduated Salutatorian of her class & attended Blinn College. After meeting & marrying Charley Lilley, they moved to Nederland to raise their family. Vera was a homemaker who loved both flower & vegetable gardening and could be found canning all kinds of fruits & vegetables. She was also an avid quilter & seamstress.

Vera was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Nederland until she moved to Kingwood in 2005. In Kingwood she continued to serve her Lord & Savior through Kingwood United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charley Lilley, her parents Chester & Eva Ellisor , sister Lorraine Ellisor. She is survived by daughter Linda Sherman & husband Ron , of Nederland. Connie Rickerman & husband Kirk of Kingwood, 4 grandchildren, Paul Sheffield of Houston, John Sheffield & wife Jennifer of Nederland, Justin & Tiffany Rickerman of Kingwood, 4 great-grand children, Isis Petersell, Wynter Reed, Aslan Sheffield & Lorelai Sheffield. Sister Ruth Moriarty & husband Kenneth of Spring, brother Vernon Ellisor & wife Iva Jean of Cleveland, as well as a number of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation was held Thursday, Sept. 29th, 5-8pm., at Kingwood Funeral Home. Funeral services was held Friday, Sept. 30th at 2pm at Kingwood United Methodist Church. Burial followed at Hayman Cemetery at Liberty Hill.
