Beloved husband of Tracey (née Murray) Rodrigues. Very proud and dear father of Lucas Amaro Rodrigues, age 8. Tracey and Lucas will miss his loudness, his laughter, his love of Whopper Wednesdays and the fun family times they had through their travels to Cuba and several trips to Portugal among others. Lucas says the thing he will miss most about his dad - is his dad. Tracey will miss her best friend and soulmate but will also miss the daily phone calls while they both commuted home - even though sometimes no words were ever spoken, the countless nights of talking about their future retirement plans in Portugal and the many nights of hanging out with Lucas just enjoying their little family. Amaro and Lucas enjoyed very much having their ‘bro time’ while mom was at work, Amaro would often tease Tracey that he didn’t know where Lucas was when she called and Lucas gladly played along with laughter in the background.
Amaro will be greatly missed by his loving parents, Joao and Rosa Rodrigues. Amaro loved his parents and they will miss his drop ins with treats, the early morning coffee deliveries, but most importantly, they will miss their son greatly.
Best friend and dear brother Victor (Stephaine) and their children Isabella and Francisca. The bond Amaro had with his brother was like no other. He was always there for him whenever he needed. The girls will forever cherish their dates with Padrinho.
Predeceased by his daughter Tamarra Cherryholme (1992-2010), we all now have great comfort in knowing they have finally been reunited. We all hope they are spending their reunion with countless stories, hugs and love.
Amaro was a kind and generous man that would give entirely of himself to anyone that needed help. He never let anyone down and was dedicated to his friends and family. He was a friend to many, even though his favorite place was his home, he thoroughly enjoyed the time that he did spend with friends. Amaro spoke highly of all his family here in Canada, France and Portugal, he looked forward to seeing them when the opportunity arose. He truly made his family extremely proud and he was equally as proud of his family.
Amaro will be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Being the first born of the cousins, he often looked at his cousins with the same love and affection a parent does of a child. He did everything he could to have them for special dinners and always tried to recognize their achievements when he could. Creating memories was very important to him and we are all forever grateful that those memories were made and we can continue to honour him.
Amaro was a dedicated employee for over 17 years at Durose Manufacturing. He will be greatly missed by his coworkers.
Both Tracey and Lucas have one request, please take care of your health, please remember to love your family and keep them close, please remember to do what you love. Life is short, life is unpredictable and life is beautiful, enjoy it everyday.
Cremation has taken place and a private time of remembrance has been held by the family. A celebration of life will be planned for early summer, where the family will have a chance to celebrate Amaro with all who knew him. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations would be appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
