Berg was the beloved husband (67 years) of Olive Bergman, and the dear father of Katherine (Doug), Bill, and Linda (Brian). He leaves behind a legacy of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren: Gwen (Jeff), Eric (Emily and children Abigail and Michael), Julia (Ivan and children Elliot and Ethan), Jake, and Nick. His many nieces and nephews, and his sister-in-law Margaret (children David, John, and Neil), will miss him dearly. Berg is predeceased by his brothers Tom (and son Paul) and Jon, his sister Villa, and his grandson Edmund. He will be remembered fondly by his family and many friends.
Our family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Martin Kane, the many healthcare professionals and personal support workers that provided care and support to Berg and our family as we walked this road together. We are truly grateful.
We extend a special thank you to Father Aleks, for your compassion throughout this path and the peace and serenity that you provided as we came to the end of this part of Berg's life journey.
Visitation will take place at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 75 Bluevale St. N., Waterloo, on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 10 - 11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario, or to the Grand River Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care.
