Bridie was a lovely person who I met at TOPS in 2010.  She was supportive and caring.  She spoke about Florida and how she enjoyed that so much.

My condolences to the family.  My thoughts and prayers go out to you.  May it comfort you to know that others care.

My sincere sympathy to you Gus and all your family on the passing of your dear Bridie. One of the memories I have of you was when you both got engaged to be married and you came up to Paughanstown in Ireland to tell us the great news.  I remember you were both so happy and excited.  All the Cavanagh family were also so happy for you both going off to Canada to make a new life for yourselves. Which you did very well.

Bridie was a very caring soul.  She had a warm and gentle nature about her that made you feel very special.  She will be missed.


We as a family will always remember Bridie for her infectious smile and laughter. We live next door to Gus and Bridie for 23 wonderful years.  We loved to see the two of them enjoy each other's company on a beautiful sunny day sitting in their backyard enjoying a glass of wine at happy hour. Bridie was the type of person that would take the time to say hello and engage in a conversation when she seen you. Love is like the wind. We can't see you but we can feel you. Bridie, you will be deeply missed.

We had so many good times together, and we miss you still. Marilyn and I were married in 1957 also. 64 years ago. Take one day at a time Gus and think of the good times you and Bridie shared. I have been lucky enough to have know Bridie for most of my life. Spending a lot of time at their family homes in Schomberg as a child and teenager. Not sure how she put up with Anne and I always giggling and trying her patience. But I don’t ever remember her angry, she always had a smile on her face. She was one of the good ones and will be missed dearly by many. My heart goes out to the whole family during this very difficult time. Love Michele

When I think of Bridie, I think of a warm, fun loving person.  Paul and I are so blessed to have made so many memories with you both.  I will hold those memories close and treasure each one. Mum, you raised me to have patience, to fight for what I believe in, to stay strong, no matter what, to be independent; most of all, how to run a household and to be a mum. I will miss your humming (I think I have a recording of it somewhere), your hugs, our talks and your honesty. You were my guidance and my mentor.
