

It is with great sorrow that the family said their goodbyes to Brigid ‘Bridie’ Clarke on Saturday, May 15, 2021. Loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed.
Born in Ardee, Ireland to Ellen and Joseph Commins.
Bridie met the love of her life Augustine ‘Gus’ Clarke in Ireland in 1954. They were engaged and later moved to Canada to start a new life together. Bridie and Gus were married on April 27, 1957 and spent 64 beautiful years together.
They were blessed with four children, Mike (Carol) Clarke, Sheila Kearns, Anne (Joe) Beers, Irene (Keith) Mayer and many foster children.
Loving Grandmother of Melissa (Justin), Brianna, Trevor, Logan, Caitlin, Cole, Jamie, and Kyle.
Great-Grandmother of Austin, Jackson, Hunter, and Carter.
Sister to Maisie (Mickey) Lynch, Thomas (Winnifred) Commins , Pat-Joe (Frances) Commins, Imelda (Tony) Taaffe, James Commins.
Bridie is fondly remembered for her infectious smile, her loving and caring nature, and her Christmas plum puddings. She loved euchre, shuffleboard, word search, and making crafts. She always said “Your health is your wealth” and always saw the positive in everyone.
Bridie will be sorely missed by her many friends at the North York Retired Firefighters Association, TOPS where she was a 20 year KOPS member and at Betmar Acres, Zephyrhills, Florida.
Bridie’s family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900) on Thursday, May 20, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Please note: you must register in advance in order to attend the visitation.
