It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Denise Secours on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
Denise passed away peacefully at home, with her husband of 59 years, Marcel, and daughter Michelle by her side. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Yolande Villeneuve and Pauline Lemay, (Paul Lemay) and brother-in-law André Secours (Bea Binka) as well as many nieces, nephews, and her grand-dog, Phoenix.
Denise was predeceased by her parents, Laurence and Adolphe Villeneuve, sister, Sylvia Kennedy and brother-in-law, Ronald Kennedy, brothers, Robert Villeneuve, Bruno Villeneuve, Gary Villeneuve, mother and father-in-law, Angélina and Ovila Secours, and niece, Janice Kennedy.
Denise was a recipient of a double lung transplant more than 20 years ago. She used her “bonus” years to enjoy her family and life in general, to the fullest, thankful to the anonymous person who gave this gift as they lost their own life. We are also thankful for these years we had to create so many more wonderful memories.
Friends and family will be received at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900), on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 9 p.m. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 49 Blueridge Ave., Kitchener, on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.
We would like to extend our thanks to Dr. Nagpal and the RN's and PSW's from CarePartners and ParaMed. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Toronto Lung Transplant Civitan Club would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at www.westmountfuneralchapel.com
