

Doug was born March 29, 1942 in Roseville, Ontario where he worked on the family farm. From there, he worked as a farm machinery mechanic at Vincent’s Farm Equipment and then became a District Service Manager and Sale’s Manager for Massey-Ferguson. Doug also worked with Midwestern Equipment and was in sales for London Life. He loved his participation in the Red Knights Precision Snowmobile Team for many years, touring around Ontario in the winter months.
Doug travelled extensively and finally retired in Florida where he lived for over 20 years, volunteering with Hampton Scholarship Program. He returned to the K-W area two years ago.
He recently was married to Barb Massecar on February 18.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Barb. Devoted father to Pam Willis (Lamar), Jim (Cynthia), Kerry (Karin). Fondly remembered by his stepchildren Kelly (Randy) Cooper, Dan (Tracy) Massecar, his cherished 12 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren, his 4 treasured sisters and their spouses Joyce Poth (Richard-deceased), Beth Poth (Don), Chris Irvine (Steve), Jane Brown (Craig) and their children and families as well as Kerry’s mother Judy (Schnarr) and father-in-law Manfred Chiduck and sister-in-law Phyllis Maier. Predeceased by his wife Pat (Lauvray) Becker (2015) and his parents Melvin and Florence and Mary Saunders.
Friends, colleagues and family are invited to a Celebration of Life, Friday March 10th at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 54 Queen St. N, Kitchener. Visitation from 10 am-12 pm, service and light luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family, and can be arranged for through the Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 519-743-8900.
