Hilda was born on October 7, 1922 in Essex County to Everett (1975) and Ada (1969) Jackson, a younger sister to Don (1968). She was married to Len Breckenridge (1991) in April 1942 and they lived in Wheatley where daughter Nancy was born. They moved to Wyoming to help work a farm for a relative for several years, where Bette was born, then moved to Petrolia where Wendy was born. Hilda and the whole family suffered the devastating loss of Nancy in 1977. Mom moved to Kitchener in 1992 to be closer to family.
Left with many warm memories of our mom are Bette (Gary) and Wendy (Tom). Adored Gram B to grandchildren Robyn (Rory); Jaimie (Kevin); Shebbon (Elyssa); Geoff (Yuri); Gillian (Ben); Kelly (Mike); Stephanie (Caleb); Corey (Ella); Shea. And to great grandchildren Maddy, Teighan; Logan, Brayden; Peyton; Violet; Kianna, Ethan; Kyra, Lennox; Winter, Kes; Ever, Chase, Levi.
Mom’s life was centered around her family. She was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
She cared for and enjoyed her dogs through the years. They were a source of great joy and companionship. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting and made many sweaters and blankets for her family and friends. She lived in her own home until shortly after her 100th birthday.
Special thanks to her neighbours, PSW’s and Meals on Wheels for all of their help and kindness.
We will always remember her stories, hugs, smiles, giggles and her classic “oh I love you too!”; and jujubes of course. Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life will follow. Inurnment to take place in Albuna Cemetery, Essex County.
