John was born April 12, 1930 in Bergambacht, Netherlands and emigrated to Canada with his bride in April 1953. He was an ambitious, intelligent and well-read man, a spirited debater who loved talking with anyone about any number of subjects.
John had a varied employment history in Canada beginning at the W.C Wood Co., in Guelph, in the machine shop, to establishing his own business, ICA Ltd, a commercial/industrial appraisal service. The appraisal business took him across Canada, the United States and Western Europe and gave him great satisfaction.
John took great pride in his family and, also in the family home he built in Puslinch Twp.
John passed away at Lanark Heights on August 29th 2018. Beloved husband of the late Catharina de Vos (2006).Dear father of John (Pam), Anthony, Robert (Kim) and Gwen Keep (Brian). Loved grandfather of Sean, Amy, Nicholas, Austin and Quinn. Dear brother of Hennie de Vos and dear brother-in-law of Johanna Van Der Kooy. Loved cousin to Richard Maas. A special thank you to the staff at Lanark Heights for their care over the last few weeks. Cremation has taken place.
