Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Tuesday March 17, 2015, age 89 years. Born in Morse, Saskatchewan and was a longtime member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Kitchener.
Leonard worked at Dominion Tire from March 1944-1957 and was active in the Rubber Workers Union. Steward to President of URW Local # 80, Staff from 1957-1987 and was retired from URW as Canadian Director. Life member of the New Democratic Party and was a Life member of Branch #530 Canadian Legion, Waterloo.
Loving husband of Evelyn (Starnitzke), dear father of Leonard and his wife Mary (O”Connell), Diane, Richard and Karen Bruder.
Survived by a sister Elsie (Nicholaisen) Mann and her husband Robert.
Predeceased by parents Christian Nicholaisen and Gladys Bruder, and a brother Lars.
Leonard’s family will receive friends and relatives at the Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S. Kitchener on Tuesday March 24, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. till time of service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m.
