

Firth, Leslie Wayne on August 27, 1949-November 8, 2012, will be sadly missed by his loving wife Heather Gilbey (nee Fry) of 29 years after a long battle with cancer in the comfort of his own home. Brother of Gary and Pat Firth. Father of Tom and Tracy and Shelly; Victoria and Fred; Elizabeth and Derek; Darren and Dean. Grandfather of many Grandchildren: Brandi and Jesse; Ashley and Nikki; Robert and Michael; Matthew and Samantha; Danielle and Ethan; Nathan, Tyler, James and Kourtney; Natasha and Kayla and many Great-Grandchildren. Brother-in-law of Albert Fry, Catherine Van Tassel, Mary Gruber; Keith and Sharon Fry. Predeceased by his Mother Mina Bell Firth; his Father Garnet Firth; Sister Fay Sherwood; Nephew Jimmy Sherwood and Brother-in-law Donald Van Tassel. Thank you to all the family and friends who gave him support during his illness, especially Pat Nesbit for being our rock. Paul Gordon for all the special time he spent with Les. Our good neighbour Morris Green for all his support. Special thanks to Dr. Cescon and Dr. Ward for their loving nature. Palliative care Nurse Judy Stewart for her gentle compassion and dedication. Les worked at Lear Seating for 32 years. A very active hockey and broomball player in his younger years. He enjoyed a game or two umpiring many adult baseball leagues. To all his Moose buddies, have a beer for him. His most cherished moments were sitting on his back deck with Heather, enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. Leslie's family will receive friends and relatives at Westmount Funeral Chapel on Monday November 12, 2012 from 11:00 am. A Celebration of Leslie's Life will take place at 12:00 pm. Rev Ross Gill from Holy Trinity church in Kitchener to officiate. To honour Les's wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to KW Hospice Palliative Care Team.
