

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Norm at his home on Monday, May 2nd, 2011 in his 65th year. Beloved husband of 38 years to Kristine Misiuda (nee Holuj). Norm will be greatly missed by his children Cheryl and Derric, Melissa and Don, Barb, and Sarah, and was a loving dziadziu to his two adoring grandchildren Sophia and Jacob Richardson. Norm is survived by his sister Helen Engeneski (late John Engeneski) and is brother-in-law to Marie and Les Ciesielski, Helen Stys (late Stan Stys), Ed and Diane Holuj. Uncle to Michael Engeneski, Jayne Matzeg (late Rick Matzeg), Denise and Ron Norman, Katie Stys, Michelle Ciesielski and Rob Petek, James Ciesielski and Beth Ciavaglia, Michael Holuj, Julia Holuj. He was also Uncle to four great nieces, and two great nephews.
Norm was born in Brantford on December 10th, 1946. He had a rich childhood growing up in Brantford, Chicago, and Florida with his parents. In 1972 he joined the Toronto Police Service before transferring to the Waterloo Regional Police Service where he retired with 29 years of completed service. He was also the founder of Stormin’ Norman’s Firewood where he proudly delivered firewood to the people of the Kitchener-Waterloo area. In his retirement years, he transferred to the lawn care business where he developed Ma and Pa Lawncare. Norm was the secretary of the Waterloo Regional Police Retirees Association, an avid gardener, traveller, wine connoisseur, and very much a family man.
It was Norm’s wish to be cremated and to celebrate his life with friends and family. All are invited to share the memory of Norm’s life at a memorial luncheon to be held at the Waterloo Regional Police Association at 1128 Rife Road, Cambridge, on Saturday May 7th, 2011 at 11 a.m.
Those wishing to donate in Norm’s memory are asked to consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, or a memorial bench at the police association. Donations may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at (519) 743-8900.
The family wish to extend their appreciation to the dedicated emergency service personnel who attended and the love and support of the neighbours.
He will be missed by all.
