Predeceased by his wife Audrey Eleanor Steffler (nee Rohleder) on January 18, 2009. Fondly remembered by his brother Ron Steffler. Lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Chris (Violeta) Steffler, Greg (Sara) Steffler, Lisa (Andy) Santoro, John Steffler, Melinda Steffler, Lynn (Brian) Bechtel, Fran Moore, Susan (Ron) Koenderink, Jennifer (Larry) Clarke, Jim Hagey, and Terry (Donna) Hagey. Ray grew up on the family farm in Kitchener, where he owned and operated Steffler Potatoes. He made many friends over the years selling potatoes at the Kitchener Farmer’s Market and for over 65 years his cheerful smile and pleasant demeanor welcomed you at the St. Jacob’s Market in Waterloo. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time and travelling with his nieces and nephews. Ray’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 18, 2014, from 12:00 – 1:45 pm at Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900), where the funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment in Williamsburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Fairview Mennonite Home or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. The family wishes to express their deepest thanks and gratitude to the staff of Fairview Mennonite Home, where Ray resided for several years — first in the Fairview Suites, then in Preston Wing LTC. He enjoyed his time there, and it was evident that you truly loved him. Online condolences at www.westmountfuneralchapel.com
