I often think of Roman very fondly.  I shared many wonderful visits and ski trips with him.  Roman did not allow geography to get in the way of friendship.  He was a frequent guest in my home.   My condolences to you Dennis,I know you must miss Roman very much. My memories and thoughts of our times together are all very special to me.

I was surprised to hear of Roman's passing from his brother in law Dennis.  Dennis I am so sorry  to hear of your losses, Joan and Roman.    I first met Roman at Stowe.  He and Joan were exceptional people who I held dearly.  I have memories of sking with Roman and of all of the times he treated us with some of his magic sessions....  But I especially remember all of the dinners together after skiing and the many visits I made to their homes in Montreal and Kitchener.   There was a special visit he made with Joan and Dennis and they became stranded with us in CT when their car failed them...it was a nice extension to their visit with us.....    there ws a time when we were all family, skiing, cycling, dinners with the gang at Stowe..... 

I only knew Romaine by that name. Kind and soft spoken, he was a fabulous entertainer when he was “on”. He was a extremely kind and generous man to budding magicians such as me; and in retrospect, one of the very few real magicians I had the pleasure to come across. His knowledge of prestidigitation was sans pareil, and his mastery of sleight of hand profound. He knew how to mesmerise a roomful of people with… nothing. He’d borrow items and… charm you and fool you and make you laugh. Quite a performer. We lost touch over the years, and I regret that immensely. Memories of his presence have become legends for me - and others - to share.

Farewell, R.

I met Roman way back in the mid-1950's when visiting his Mom along with my Mom.  He was a quiet person but always  with a passion for magic.  We met many years later when I hired him to entertain in a Seniors Home,  the residents were spellbound as they watched his hands working out tricks of his trade along with the inter-action of his comedy skills  being a ventriloquist.  I enjoyed Roman's and Joan's company on the many occasions dining out and discovering new restaurants.  

Today, I am thinking of them both, sitting back and enjoying a great bottle of wine.  Bon Appetite !

Romaine will definitely be missed, a good friend and always ready for a laugh or funny story.

It was a shock to hear that Roman Szydlowski passed away on March 20, 2021 .  It was too soon after his wife Joan passed.

Roman and Joan were like family to me.  Roman always called me
his Twin Brother and after meeting Joan she was like a Dear Sister in- Law  to me.  

Dennis I'm so sorry  for your losses.  You and the old Ski house crew are so dear to me.    You will always be like family.  Love you all forever.

The flowers are always beautiful, the river flowing over the rocks, and oh the sweet sound of all the different birds, dare I say you all created a heaven here on earth. My grandson and I loved the tranquil setting.  Our friendship is one of my newer ones and I am so pleased you were in my life
Thank you for supporting Joan and I on all our adventures and challenging times.  I know you are with Joan having that glass of wine at the Lords table. Rest In Peace Roman til we meet again

A wonderful caring man.  As a magician he came to our Wednesday afternoon Seniors' Group and blew our minds with his magic tricks. One day a senior who was suffering from dementia and who never ever said a word shouted, "How did he do THAT?" which not only shocked but surprised us all and then gave us a good laugh.  He had all the seniors up trying out the tricks.  Good fun.  He was a very learned man and could talk on any topic with great understanding and wisdom.  He can now join his beloved wife Joan in Heaven.  He will be missed.  Rest in Peace Roman.
