Dear brother of Surchet Vaid, Sewa Vaid, Pali Vaid, Harbhajan Vaid, Charanjit Vaid, Harjot Vaid, Gurcharan Vaid, Tarlochan Kaur, Kuldip Kaur, Baldev Kaur Banga, Sital Kaur Bagi, and Sukhjit Kaur Badwal.
We announce the passing of the soul of our family, Sarbjit Vaid, who completed his life journey surrounded by love on July 10th, 2025 at age 85. With his grandkids and family at his side, he peacefully passed into rest at the Waterloo Regional Health Network at Chicopee, Kitchener. A truly honourable and deeply respected man whose presence made a better place, and left an unforgettable mark on our lives.
Sarbjit Vaid was not only the most amazing grandfather in the world, but he showed us what it truly means to live a good life. He lived the kind of life most people can only dream of: richness—not (just) in wealth—but with family, love, and happiness. His life was a testament to what truly matters: family, wisdom, generosity, and honour. He’s the kind of man we all look up to.
We are deeply grateful for the time we had with him. He was more than just our grandfather—he was our greatest teacher, our constant anchor, and our oldest friend. We will honour him not only in memory, but in how we choose to live.
A celebration of Sarbjit’s life will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900), where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Private cremation will take place on Friday.
Sarbjit met every challenge of his illness with unshakeable bravery. Cancer may have challenged his body, but it never touched his spirit. In the face of life’s hardest moments, he continued to carry himself with the grace and humour that always defined his life, showing us what true strength looks like. As a tribute to his memory, we invite you to consider donating blood. In his fight, and in the fight of so many others, access to blood donations and healthcare workers are to thank for helping our grandfather live to 85.
