Susan, you have always been such a beautiful spirit on Earth and the joy and humour you brought to your students made the mundane quite fun.  I thank you so much for facilitating the knowledge of probably hundreds of healthcare professionals.  I never knew you outside of class, but I know you were a passionate and kind soul.  You have enriched so many peoples’ lives.  Thank you for your service and I hope you were shown love every single day.

She was a precious soul, and a great nurse.
I received my first aid & cpr / aed training from her for many years.
She will me missed greatly.

This was Oct 2018......Canadian Thanksgiving at Myrtle Beach...Sue, Jean, Roy and my parents Shirley and Neil...my husband and I met them there and spent five days together and had a wonderful visit with everyone.   Glad we have so many happy memories, over 60 years our lives were intertwined  -  the Hiltons and Pellar's.   Love you my friend.

Sue - we have made many memories and traditions in recent years such as blueberry picking and prosecco at Christmas. I know Penny will miss your vacations, dinners at the keg and your chicken soup. I hope whenever you are is nice and warm and you are happy and at peace. Thank you for everything you have done for Penny.

My pediatric dentistry staff and I took our CPR with Sue every spring, and we always looked forward to her stories!  

Sue was remarkable, and we were blessed to have been taught by her.

So sorry to hear of Susan’s passing she was a great girl with a great outlook on life .I’ve known the family since 1975 they had a lot of heart break but enjoyed life as well .She’s the end of a lovely family .

Sue was a special person and she had an energy and exuberance for nursing, educating and life in general.  
I first met Sue as a student,  then became colleagues and fast friends. She was so generous with her time. I loved working along side her in CPR.  
I will miss her big smile and wonderful laughter.

I am so sorry to hear of Sue’s passing.  Like many others. I too had the pleasure of seeing Sue yearly and hearing her stories.  She had a zest for life and a no quit attitude.   Through her teaching with Conestoga College and continuing with heart and stroke foundation, Sue has touched so many lives.  Rest well.

Sue was my very first clinical instructor in 2012 and to this day I have yet to meet a better one. She was a teacher who maintained her professionalism but also made students feel seen and valued regardless of performance. I remember one of the shifts at the hospital, I could not find a ride so she went out of her way to pick me up early in the morning and drop me off at home - but first we stopped at Cost Co! We shopped until we dropped, laughed, and had a hot dog! I will forever remember her kindness and going above and beyond to help me. I have to tell this story too, she thought that myself and another student would make a good match, so she arranged for him to pick me up for a ride to our end of year gathering LOL Nothing ever came of it but that was one of my funniest memories in nursing school! She never ceased to make us all laugh and feel good about ourselves. She is the only faculty that I kept in touch with after graduation, and I bet that is true for dozens if not hundreds of others. She was amazing and one of a kind. She impacted everyone around her and I can only hope to live up to her amazing legacy as she leaves behind a lot of love, acceptance, joy, the meaning of community and service to others.

I am so saddened to hear of Sue's passing. I use to renew my CPR with her every year. She was always so wonderful to talk to and always had such amazing professional guidance.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Sue's passing. She was one of my Nursing Profressor's at Conestoga back in 2007. I renewed my CPR with Sue every year since then, it was our yearly meet. I looked forward to her stories every time. I will always remember you as a kindhearted soul with the best stories!

I am so sorry to hear of Sue’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with her and she was always full of kindness and love. She always radiated happiness and truly cared for patients and her students. She will be missed by so many in the nursing community. My thoughts are with her family at this time.

I’m so sorry to hear of Sue’s passing. She was such a light in the Conestoga college nursing community and I will always remember fondly her teachings not only in nursing but also in day to day life.

Sue was one of my first tutors in my BScN program. I still remember when she told us that because we’re new to the nursing floor and students, we have time to pamper our patients. She told us to go beyond - provide a foot massage, wash their hair, etc. That always stuck with me. Sending so much love to her family and please know - she’s helped so many people in her teachings and every day life.

I am so saddened to hear about Sue’s  passing.   She was a terrific lady, sweet person and a fighter. She beat the odds for such a long time. I haven’t been in touch for awhile but that bubbly adorable  girl from my high school years always shone through when ever we met. Condolences to family.

Marty, I was so sad to hear the news about Sue.  We had many good times together through the years.  Emma also sends her love; she really enjoyed our dinner with you two on Myrtle Beach.

Susan was the most kind-hearted person. She not only taught CPR but built relationships with many of her students. She was dedicated to her career and lived out her passions.
You will be deeply missed Susan. When I re-new my CPR you will always be in my thoughts and prayers xoxo

Sue was a local nursing legend. She taught me CPR from nursing school, well into my 7 year nursing career. She didn't just teach CPR, her classes were a whole experience. I loved hearing her stories, her humor and her wisdom. My first ever class with Sue we did compressions to Justin Beibers "what do you mean", a song that will forever remind me of Sue and her vibrance. I will also never forget the loving relationship her and her husband had,  there was never a class she didnt speak fondly of him or the kids.  You really could tell he was her rock.

Rest in peace to our nursing sister, you made your mark in this community and you will be missed dearly

We have lost a wonderful teacher/ friend. Her students loved her.  I met Sue in my second semester of nursing  back in 2011. She was so optimistic and willing to teach us all she could to ensure our success in the nursing program. She made us feel like we could ask her anything and she didnt shy away from showing us different nursing skills. Many of her students maintained contact with her after graduating and came back every year to renew their CPR certificate with her. She also helped us jumpstart our careers by providing references. She treated us like an equal, a friend.  During her cpr classes she would tell us stories of her cruise ship travels and her heart transplant journey. She had a photo album that she shared with her students from when she had her heart surgery. It was important for her as a transplant survivor to ensure everyone knew how to save another life through cpr and use of aed.  I remember when she taught in her basement with the teddy bears before she had the infant mannequins- those were good times.  I will always cherish the memories I have of her and think of her kindly. My condolences to her family.

So sorry to hear. Sue you have such a beautiful light about you. It was such a pleasure getting to work with you. We often would sit and visit after class and you always had such a glow about you. You were always so passionate about nursing and about your students. You always had a smile and reminded us all how precious every moment is.  Sending all our love and thoughts to your family.

Dear Marty and family,
I am SO sorry to hear of Sue's sudden passing. I, like many felt that she was invincible given all she had been through. I will always remember Sue for her love of life, family, friends, nursing, travel, Donny Osmond, and fine collectibles. She was a firecracker and a kind and generous friend and colleague. Her laugh was infectious. I will always remember her joy in finding and marrying you Marty.  She taught me and many to live in the moment and never take life for granted. I wish you all as much peace and comfort you can find in this time of tragic loss.

My condolences on the loss of your beloved Susan. When she started at Conestoga, I taught with her and she was very enthusiastic and well liked by her students. She enjoyed educating her students about her transplant surgery and I remember her bringing in her photo album to share her experience with them. The last time I saw you both was on the beach in Hawaii and your happiness was very evident. May those memories bring a smile.
