Arbutus "Boots" Hood

HOOD, Arbutus “Boots” C., age 87, of Powell, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 5, 2014. Mrs. Hood was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Powell. She was an active member of the Women on Mission Group and was the teacher of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class for over 30 years. Mrs. Hood graduated from the 2nd graduating class of Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. Preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hood; son, Henry Wayne Hood; brother, Bob Crabtree; mother, Gladys Crabtree and father, Lowell P. Crabtree. Mrs. Hood is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Larry M. and Karla J. Hood; daughter, Teresa Hood Jordan and daughter-in-law, Lona Hood; grandchildren,Elizabeth R. Thomas, Hannah K. Jordan and Westley A. Jordan; brothers and sisters-in law, Lowell P. Crabtree and Virginia Crabtree; Harold Crabtree; and J.B. and Nadine Crabtree; sisters and brothers-in-law Frances and Marvin Reagan; and Sue and Tom Miles; numerous nieces and nephews.and special caregiver and friend, Sheila Pass. The family will receive friends from 4-7pm, Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at First Baptist Church Powell. The funeral service will follow at 7pm, Pastor Phil Jones and Chaplain Dan Hix officiating. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home at 11am, Wednesday, July 9, 2014 for interment in Lynnhurst Cemetery.
