

Cunningham, Arlie Ronald, age 73, of Corryton, TN, and Goose Creek, SC, passed away Monday, August 25, of liver cancer. He was a retired veteran having served 4 years active duty in the US Marine Corp, 4 years in the US Naval Reserve, and 16 years active duty in the US Navy. After his military career, he was employed by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office in Charleston, SC as a Detention Officer. He is preceded in death by his parents Arlie Dardis and Grace Ball Cunningham of Knoxville, his first wife and the mother of his children, Wanda Reed Cunningham, and his eldest daughter Linda Bernice Mullen. He is survived by his wife Linda Moore Cunningham and two daughters; Angela Denise Weatherford of Ladson, SC and Rhonda Melissa Thompson of Knoxville. He has seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; Christina Marie Stanley and her children Orion and Nevaeh of Panama City Beach, FL; Kevin Ronald Mullen of Charlotte, NC; Meagan Renee Taylor of Ladson, SC; Ashley Brooke Taylor of Monks Corner, SC; Faith Carrie Thompson, Parker James Thompson, and Paige Jeanette Thompson of Knoxville. He is also survived by one sister, Wilma Denton of Kodak, TN, and three brothers, Jerry and his wife Carolyn, David, and Calvin Cunningham all of Knoxville, two son-in-laws; Randy Thompson of Knoxville and Charles Stewart of Ladson, SC; a very special brother and sister-in-law, John and Sarah Moore of Jasper, TN and special fishing, pinochle, and traveling buddies Bill and Darlene Polander of Corryton, TN. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 5 – 7 pm at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, 2300 Adair Dr. with the funeral service to follow with Rev. Steven Doyle officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:45 am at New Gray Cemetery, 2724 Western Ave. Friday for the 12 pm interment.
