Arthur Earley Wayland, age 81, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Parkwest Medical Center. He was a member of Bookwalter UMC. Art was retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He was an Eagle Scout, loved animals and the outdoors. Art served in the Air Force from 1966-1970 and was proud of his service to his country. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Preceded in death by parents, Hubert and Eleanor Wayland. Survived by wife of 56 years, Bonnie Wayland; daughter, Laura Akins and husband, Joseph; granddaughter, Bonnie Rose Wayland (Gwen); and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday, November 6th at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 pm Tuesday, November 7th for the 1pm Graveside service at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
