Rebecca, Sorry for your loss I  just came across this.  I know it's been a while and time is a healer. We lost dad in 2012 seems like yesterday.

I worked with Billy Ray at KUB for many years. He was a very skilled operator and one of the finest men I have ever known. He always wore a smile and his friendly manner disguised his physical strength, Bill could put you on your knees with a handshake. He was someone you could trust, and I am very saddened by his passing

I just received the news and cannot believe it....I spoke with Billy just a short time ago at the grocery and all seemed well. I know your hearts are broken, but we know Billy was a good a faithful servant and is at home with the Lord!!  Please know we share your grief and we most certainly have lost a great friend and one of the pillars of our community.

He was mowing his daughter's grass while she and her family were on vacation.  It's no surprise he passed away while helping someone.  He always looked for ways to help people.  He was a good, decent man, and will be missed by the whole family.  I was lucky to have him as my uncle.

Bill was more than a friend to me, he was my buddy. We grew up together, we went to church together both as youth and adults, we played football together, and enjoyed the past 12 "mature" years reliving many of our earlier days. Bill remembered so many people, places and events that had long ago escaped my memory, and I was so blessed that I could spend fleeting moments with him as he shared those memories with me. Those times of sharing have now been cut far too short. There were our monthly 1954 Gibbs class luncheons and our last time together at the 100 year Gibbs High School celebration that were easily filled with happy talk, all of which will always be a part of me. At the Gibbs celebration, both Bill and I were so pleased to see many friends and, especially, our 1952 and 1953 football team coach, J. A. Beeler. I am so thankful that someone who meant so much to Bill and to me could share that evening with us as we three sat  together in the stands during the formal ceremony. Bill will always be remebered as one with an ever present smile, a calm demeanor, and a willingness to help anyone, anytime who needed his assistance. Those were his trademarks, and are personal traits for which we all should strive. We hold Ila, their daughters and son, grandchildren and entire family in our prayers and ask comfort for them in this most difficult time.
