Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Brenda was the beloved baby girl of Billy Joe and Patricia Hayes. Known for her radiant smile and boundless heart, Brenda never met a stranger. Her life was a testament to joy, love, and compassion – qualities she shared generously with everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Brenda was a devoted Momma, Mamaw, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She is survived by her mother, Patricia Hayes; her loving children, Shane Winkle (Heather), Christy Hembree (Jason), and Eric Winkle (special friend, Jamie); her dear brother, Billy Hayes; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; and her precious and constant feline companion, Baby Hope. A Mamaw to many; she is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Kevin, Hayden, Delaney, Sydney Faith, and honorary grandchildren, Isabella, Gabriella, and Neil, along with a host of great-grandchildren and grand dogs.
She is reunited in peace with her beloved husband and love of her life, Ralph Andrew “Andy” Winkle; her father, Billy Joe Hayes; and her sisters, Donna Harris and Charlotte Hayes.
Brenda’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to West Village Christian Church, located at 637 Robertsville Road in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where she was a devoted congregant.
