Bruce E. Wilson

The life of Bruce Edward Wilson, 94, was long and well lived as witnessed by family, neighbors, friends and strangers alike. Bruce passed 2-21-2016. Born the 2nd child 9-29-1921 in Newell, WV to Ernest and Minnie Wilson (sister Ruth Wilson Ferguson 6-17-1917). Grew up in East Liverpool, OH. As a young man, Bruce worked in OH potteries, for Alcoa, joined the Air Corp during WWII, attended the University of AL, was a millwright, a private contractor and retired from Union Carbide/Martin-Marietta after 32 years. Bruce married Shirley Griffin in 1952. They had 3 children: Sandy Wilson Simpson (David), Mark Wilson and Patrick Wilson. Grand children: Eric Simpson, Nicole Simpson Buchanan, Adam Wilson (mother, Linda Wilson) Wade Wilson (mother, Carol Wilson). Great-grandchildren: Caswell and Emerson Buchanan and Nicholas Wilson. Bruce loved and cared for Shirley until her death in 1979. Bruce married Doris Lowe and loved and cared for her until her death in 2009. Bruce was a member of Good Shepherd UMC of Lenoir City, TN. Son, Mark Wilson, cared day-to-day for his Dad for the last 5 years. We have blood family, marry into family and make family by loving each other. We all were blessed in the last 2 1/2 years by Linda Wilson for her joy, sense of humor, faithfulness, care and love of Bruce. Everyone should be cared for by one such as Linda at the end of life. We are also grateful to dad's special friend Delores Powell, who brought companionship and laughter into his life. Arrangements to celebrate Bruce's life: There will be a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery, 3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN Monday, Feb 29 at 1:00 pm. Rev.
