Niles, Carolyn Wallace, 75, native of Knoxville, TN, passed away January 27, 2011, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, where she was a resident of Beverly Hills for 30 years. She is survived by her daughter, Alicia Carlene Butler and granddaughter Hailey Laura Villaire, both of Long Beach, CA., 8 nieces and nephews, several cousins, and lifelong friend Joan Mincey, most of whom reside in the Knoxville area. She is predeceased by her son, Chris A. Butler of Hancock Park CA, brother, Charles E. Wallace, sisters Helen R. Ballinger, and Jesse M. Wallace. Carolyn will always be remembered and admired for her sweet heart, beautiful smile, and unending determination to overcome all adversity, surviving an unheard of fifty-nine years as a quadriplegic following an automobile accident in 1953. Everyone who knew Carolyn felt encouraged by her strength and love. Sweet Carolyn, beautiful woman, now your body can rest and your spirit can dance. Viewing will be held Thursday February 3, 12:30 p.m. at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel. The service will follow at 2:00 with Pastor Steve Ross officiating.
