Chester Lee Lakin, age 91, of Powell, TN had his faith made sight on Sunday, September 7, 2025. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Andersonville. Chester was the associate pastor at North Knoxville Baptist Church for many years, and was retired from the security department at Saint Mary's Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by parents, George and Estella Lakin; loving wife of 71 years, Monnie Lakin; brothers, Calvin, Caleb, Clyde, and Carlos Lakin; sisters, Edna Yearwood and Alene Lakin. Chester is survived by sons, Steve (Terri) Lakin of Powell and Jack Lakin of Knoxville; grandchildren, Jonathan (Brooke) Lakin, Nicholas (Jenna) Lakin, Jessica (Jeff) Michaels, Jordan (Stephanie) Lakin; 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Missions Fund at First Baptist Church of Andersonville, 3949 Andersonville Hwy., Andersonville, TN 37705. A graveside service will take place Wednesday, September 10th at 11:00 am, meeting at Greenwood Cemetery, 3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918 at 10:45 am.
