

Callahan, Donald Ray “Rader” age 78 of Powell, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at Tennova Residential Hospice. He retired from Rohm and Haas after 38 years of service. Preceded in death by his father Bus Callahan and mother Frankie Callahan Adams, sister Norma Bean, sons-in-law Gary Hopson and Stephen Corbett. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years Carolyne Cooper Callahan, sons Jeff (Elaine) Callahan and Christian (Cindy) Callahan, daughters Suzette (Roger) Lacy and Lisa (Joe) Hopson, grandchildren Stefanie (Ryan) Genua, Laura (Paul) Lacy, Josh Hopson, Jessica (Greaton) Sellers, Justin Callahan, Chelsea Corbett, Ethan Callahan, Jake Hopson, Brendan Callahan and Finnley Callahan, great grandson Levi Genua, and special beloved companion Buffy. Don was a dedicated republican who could not be disturbed during the O’Reilly Factor television show at 8pm every evening. He enjoyed playing sports and when he retired from playing he continued his love by volunteering as an official for little league baseball. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517,Topeka, Kansas 66675. Family and friends will meet Thursday at 12:45pm in the Bell’s Camp Ground Cemetery for a 1pm interment service with Rev. Kent Williams officiating. Arrangements by Lynnhurst/Greenwood Chapel.
