Tipton, Doris Cox, Born July 9, 1930, departed this life Saturday, January 4, 2014. Mrs. Tipton was a member of First Baptist Church of Knoxville and retired from the University of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver “Tip” Tipton and daughter, Sharron Tipton Stewman. Mrs. Tipton is survived by her sons, H. Randall Tipton and S. Scott Tipton and wife Janice; granddaughters, Heather and Michelle Tipton and Jenifer Campbell and husband Josh; grandsons, Nate Tipton, S. Chase Tipton and wife Lindsey; great-granddaughters, Haidyn and Paisley Campbell and Annslee Tipton and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, 2300 W. Adair Dr. The funeral service will begin at 3pm, Rev Dave Ward and Rev Bob Money officiating. Interment will follow in Lynnhurst Cemetery.
