Gable, Edith Marie Hinton, age 87, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Fountain City where she attended the PTL Sunday school class. She was retired from The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, where she was the business officer for the University Libraries. Edith graduated from Harrison-Chilhowee Baptist Academy in 1947, and attended Carson Newman College. Preceded in death by parents, Rev. G.X. Hinton and Mary Belle Hinton. Survived by dear friend and caretaker, Mary Anne Murff, and many friends in Knoxville and Alabama. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Physicians Regional Medical Center, 3rd Central and especially Dr. Thomas Worley. Visitation will be 1:30 – 2:30 pm Sunday at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Dr. The funeral will follow with Rev. Ron Mouser and Dr. Mike Smith officiating.
