Hal Broome, age 84, was born 02-08-1931 and passed away 01-17-2016. “And he heard his Lord say, ‘Well done, thy good and faithful servant….enter into the joy of thy Lord.’” He was a member and Deacon at Central Baptist Church, Fountain City. Preceded in death by parents, Thomas E Broome, Sr. and Louise Lockman Broome; daughter, Diane Broome Spining; brothers, Thomas E. Broome, Jr. and Charles David Broome, and sister, Ann Broome Bobo. Survivors: wife of 58 years, Ruth L. Broome; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Broome Pearsall and Robert Pearsall; grandchildren, Andrew and McKenzie Birdwell, Christopher Pearsall, Christian and Riley Spining; great-grandchildren, Avery Birdwell and Ilee Gibson, and many nieces and nephews. Hal (Dean to his family) was a life-long Christian and an example of humility, dignity, and grace. He loved his Church and his Country. He was a Vietnam veteran and proud of his 20 years of military service in the USAF. He was patriotic to his core, often wearing his military uniform to patriotic services at church. He will also be remembered in the Halls and Fountain City communities for his work at Graning Paint and Gentry-Griffey Funeral Chapel. Family and friends were his world. The family will receive friends 12-2 pm on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2 pm with Rev. Ron Mouser and Rev. Keith Shown officiating. Burial in Lynnhurst Cemetery with full military honors will follow. The family wishes to thank Dr. Victor Salter and his staff and Dr. John Vannoy and Tennova Hospice for their acts of kindness.
