

Jermaine Edward Ray, age 41, of Knoxville, passed away on June 9, 2016. Mr. Ray was a beloved member of the Insulators Local 46 for the past 23 years, and was an elected Executive Board Member and the coordinator for the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee for the past 15 years. He loved his family and friends dearly, loved riding his motorcycle and loved U.T. Football. #VFL! Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his father James Edward Siler. Survivors include his wife Callie Phipps Ray; son Jaylen Drake Ray; daughter Lyric Trinity Ray; mother Marcella Whitehead; brothers: James Tyrone Ray and wife Jackie and Ocean Depree Siler and fiance’ Edlisha Scott; sisters Jasmine Siler and Belvonna Ray; nieces and nephews: Jazmine Roberts, Kea’ne Ray, Azaria Siler, Matthew Hammock and Deshaun and Janiah O’Keefe,as well as too many aunts, uncles and cousins to list; mother and father-in-law Linda Large and J.L. Phipps, and a multitude of cherished friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 16th from 5-8 pm in the chapel of Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 17th at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Lynnhurst Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Bilal Siler, Kea’ne Ray, J.J. Walker, Samuel Wright, Jr., Charles Woody, Doug Crosby, Caney Ellis, Anthony Sewell and Zack Bowen. Honorary pallbearers will be James Tyrone Ray and Ocean Depree Siler.
