Mary A. (Scott) Wood, age 71 of Knoxville, gained her wings on June 10, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She enjoyed her last years by spending time with her devoted pet, Prissy and countless visitors. Mary played a huge role for 45+ years by helping her siblings and extended family members, as she lovingly cared for our children while we worked. She was affectionately known as Momma Honey, Nonnie, Momma Mary and Aunt Mary by the children, which are way too many to name them all, however each one was special to Mary, as she will always be special to them. Mary is preceded in death by her one and only, the love of her life, John B. Wood. Also preceding her are her parents Frank E. Scott and Juanita (Scott) Horner and brother John F. Scott. Mary is survived by siblings: Elizabeth Wood, Nancy and Jerry Dockery, Louise and Eddie Ellenburg, Frank Scott, Brenda and Avremi Manzur, Jim and Leedra Scott, Jeanette Scott, Marilyn and Richard Wooliver, half sister Shirley Lee, along with several nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her many special friends and relatives. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 12th from 5:30 – 6:30 in the chapel of Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, with a funeral service following at 6:30, with Mike Haun officiating. Burial will be on Monday, June 13th at 11:00 am in Asbury Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers. Everyone is asked to assemble at the gravesite.
