Mildred "Millie" Eva Brock Russell

Mildred "Millie" Eva Brock Russell, age 93, of Knoxville, Tennessee went to be with her Savior on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Millie was born October 14, 1928. She retired from Sears after 25 years of dedicated service. Since 1955, Millie was a faithful member of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church where she also served as the Director of Children's Church for 20 years. She loved music and had her own band, The Jive Five. Her band performed at local senior centers and weekly dances. Millie played bass guitar, piano and drums. She also taught line dancing for several years.

She was preceded in death by husband, James E. Russell; parents, Austin and Maude Brock; brother, Glen Brock; sisters, Doris Breeden, Patricia Brock and Linda Brock. Millie is survived by daughters, Norma Galford and Kandi (Robert) Knaff; grandchildren, Robert Tuggle, Taryn Johnson, Shaun Galford and Brandon Galford; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, April 26th from 5-7pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home with funeral service following at 7pm. Grandsons, Shaun and Brandon Galford to officiate. Graveside service will take place 11am Wednesday, April 27th at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, 3716 Airport Road, Alcoa, TN 37701. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to G.O.D.
