

Trost, Richard O. (Dick), age 92 of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Shannondale Health Care Center. Dick was born in Staten Island, New York on June 16, 1919. He was a long time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and owner of Trost Chemical Company. Dick served as a Captain in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. He was a member of Northside Kiwanis Club for 47 years. Dick was an avid boater and a member of the Power Squadron. Preceded in death by parents, Oscar and Loretta Trost; loving wife of 52 years, Eula Jon (Jonnie) Trost; brother, Gilbert E. Trost; granddaughter Whitney Elizabeth Maples. Survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Lynda and David Maples and Barbara and Dan Beckham; brother, Douglas Trost and wife Elsie; grandchildren, Laura M. Morgan and husband Gary, Brent T. Maples and wife Page, Gabriel Beckham and wife Lynn, Margaret B. Wright and husband Josh, Lynda Marie Beckham and Carter D. Beckham; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Sarah Morgan, Emily and Evan Maples, Madeline Wright and Joseph Beckham. The family would like to thank the staff of Shannondale Health Care Center for their care and support. Family will receive friends Monday November 14, 2011 from 10:00 to 10:45 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 544 N. Broadway with funeral services following at 11:00 am with Rev. Stephen Misenheimer, Rev. Amy Figg and Rev. John Tirro officiating. Interment will follow at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the Northside Kiwanis Club. Military Honors will be provided.
