Robert Wolf, Age 85, joined his savior, Jesus Christ, and his family in heaven on March 9, 2021. Robert’s marriage to his beloved wife of almost 57 years, Barbara Wolf, was truly a match made in heaven. Together they were among the founding members of their church, Knoxville Christian Center, quietly serving faithfully where needed. They enjoyed many trips both in the United States and abroad, usually with family and friends. From camping to cruises, their excitement for the new adventures was always contagious.
Robert was the middle son of Jay and Margaret Wolf, and supported them in their family business, Wolf Tree Experts, from his youth until his retirement. He proudly served his country in the US Navy, even though he was too tall for his berth on the ship. At 6’6” tall, this gentle giant was known for his booming bass voice, friendly manner, and infectious laugh throughout the Knoxville area. His ham radio friends knew him as WD4ANL, and they spent many hours discussing his love of NASCAR and the Tennessee Vols over the radio.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara, and daughter, Susannah. He is survived by his son, Robert Wolf; grandson and family, Tyler, Savannah, Madison, and Grayson; granddaughter, Taylor and Ja Kobe; brothers and spouses, David and Rose Anne Wolf and Paul and Jan Wolf; Wolf nieces and nephews, Tom, Margaret, Anne, John, Paul Jr, Mike, and their families; Barbara’s extended family Ron, Janey and Mandie Morris; Megan, Spence, Sadie and Sydnie Houston; David, Teresa and Adam Wilburn; Kaity and Daniel Moriarty; and their lifelong friends, Barry and Winnie Romoser, Chris, Cathy, Cheri, Carey and their families. The tender loving care provided to Robert by caregivers, Sheila Welch, Brianne Howell, Pam Karnes, Tiffany Wenzell, and Brandi Jenkins allowed him to remain at home during much of his illness.
Funeral services will be an outdoor graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery, on Monday, March 15, 2021, beginning at 3:00 pm with Pastor Barry Culberson officiating. The family will receive friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to Knoxville Christian Center.
