R. Julian Simpkins, age 84 of Knoxville, passed away on October 12, 2015. He was a member of Dante Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae “Dovey” Simpkins; sons: Kevin Kyle Simpkins and Kerry Kurt Simpkins (Cathleen), all of South Carolina; step-sons: Michael Lawson (Marcia) of Knoxville and Fred Edward Lawson (Penny) of Australia; step-daughter, Melodye Darlene Li (Steve) of Georgia; grandchildren: Isaac, Elliot and Aaron Simpkins. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home.
