Conner, Samuel Eugene, age 73, of Powell, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016. He was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church and had recently attended Faith United Methodist Church. He was a self- employed building materials salesman, a veteran of the U.S. Army stationed in Germany, and an avid gardener that was actively developing a community garden to share with others. Preceded in death by parents, Earl and Pearl Conner; brother, Eddie Conner; sister, Earlene Lyle. Survivors, wife, Loretta Conner; several nieces and nephews. Thanks to special friends who were there to support Sam and Loretta through his illness. Special thanks to the staff of the cardiovascular ICU at UT Hospital for their compassion, caring, and skills. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Young Williams Animal Center, 3201 Division St, Knoxville, TN 37919. Family and friends will meet Friday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 12 noon graveside service with Dr. Mark Dowell officiating.
