Shirley Davidson was born in Knoxville, TN, the daughter of James and Lois West. She was a 1955 graduate of Rule High School. Shortly after graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Ray Davidson. They were happily married 62 years before Ray passed away in 2018.
As newlyweds, Ray and Shirley moved to Savannah, GA in 1957 where Shirley gave birth to their only child, Allen in 1958. They returned to Knoxville in 1961 where they lived ever since.
Shirley had a servant’s heart and always looked for opportunities to serve and encourage others. After the death of her mother, Shirley took her father into her home and provided care for him until he passed several years later. She also volunteered at UT Hospital for many years.
After Ray retired in 1992, they enjoyed extensive travel and spending time with their grandchildren. In her later years, Shirley enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren both in person as well as FaceTime and shared albums. She was truly a blessing and will most certainly be missed by all that knew her.
