Burnett, Thomas Glenn, age 74, of Knoxville, passed away April 11, 2011. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at a very young age. He was best known for his kindness and generosity, and owner of Burnett’s Opticians. His love was for the elderly and will be best remembered for his Ministry at Trinity Hills Assisted Living and Brakebill Nursing Home. Preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Mary Jane Burnett, and brother, Bill Burnett.
Survived by wife, Brenda Burnett, former spouse, Norma Jean Burnett and his four children and step-son; sisters, Margaret and Allan Poe, Patsy and Earl Garner, Lora Banks, and Sally Armstrong. Several grandchildren and one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 6 – 8 pm in the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with a Celebration of Tom’s life to begin at 8 pm with Chaplain David Collins officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, 2018 Clinch Ave., Knoxville, TN 37916.
