
Shoffner, Verlin (V.G.), age 62, of Knoxville, passed away at home on September 22, 2010. Member of New Liberty Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Tilmon and Anna (Cook) Shoffner. Mr. Shoffner retired from Clayton’s Homes after 35 years of service.
Survived by wife of 36 years, Carolyn; daughters and son-in-law, Sharon (Shoffner) and Curtis Tolliver of New Tazewell, Shela (Shoffner) and Byron Ament of New Tazewell, Elaina (Shoffner) Ragan; sons and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Cristy Shoffner, and Kent and Sasha Shoffner; eleven grandchildren; sisters, Arvena Keck of Maynardville; Lynda and Melvin Loop of New Tazewell; aunt, Joyce Clark of Sharps Chapel; uncles, Deward and Beulah Cook of Sharps Chapel, Glen Cook of Knoxville, Lonnie and Jayetta Cook of Indiana; mother-in-law, Ruth Cooper; sister-in-law, Elaine (Cooper) Parker. Best friends, Jim and Maxine Fox, Brisco and Joanne Harless, Charlie and Kathy McDaniel. A host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers; Todd Cook, Jeff Cook, Tim Sharp, Jody Eastridge, Keith Sproles and Louis Johnson.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 – 8 pm in the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12 pm in the chapel with Rev. Richie Turner officiating.
