Willie Zimmer

Willie Mae Zimmer, age 82, of Knoxville, TN passed away October 17, 2023 at home. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was a member of North Acres Baptist Church. Willie graduated from Fulton High School and Walter State with a Bachelor of Science. She retired as a RN with 33 years of service at Ft. Sander's Regional Medical Center. Willie loved her family, her church, feeding people, and being the family historian. She said so many prayers for her loved ones.

Preceded in death by parents, William B. and Edith M. Bains; son, Clifton L. Zimmer, Jr.; sister, Carolyn Bains Allen. Survived by daughter, Sharon Wood (Ricky); bonus sons, Michael Zimmer (Terea) and Bradley Zimmer (Carrie); grandchildren, Crystal Stanley (Jason), Ricky Wood, II, (Harriet), Brody Zimmer, Bailey Zimmer Vaughn (Grayson); great-grandchildren, Blake Booker, Whitney Booker, Joshua Purcell, Michael "Mac" Wood, Paul David Wood, Rowyn Vaughn; great-great-grandchildren, Peyton Booker, Mandy Booker, Amelia Booker; special brother-in-law, Johnny Allen; God-daughter, Mary Lou Simpson and husband, Jim; nieces and nephews; special friends, Anna Turner, Charlotte Roach, Sheila Roach, JoAnn Stroud and Lena Hightower.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 19th from 5 - 7 pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive. The funeral will follow with William Purvis officiating. The graveside service will be Friday, October 20th at 11:00 am at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to North Acres Baptist Church Food Pantry, 5803 Millertown Pk, Knoxville, TN 37924.
