Beatriz Perez Herrera

On December 11, 2016 Beatriz Perez Herrera went to be with the Lord. God allowed her to be on earth for 98 years. She was blessed with many gifts; the most important one being a servant of Jesus Christ.

Beatriz was born in Monterrey, Mexico on October 20, 1918. Her family migrated to Mercedes when she was 6 years old. She lived there for most of her young life until she met the love of her life Eugenio Olivares Herrera. They moved to Harlingen, TX in 1938 and raised 4 children. Beatriz learned a trade at a very young age. If it was a piece of cloth she could make something from it. Eventually, she became a very talented and well known seamstress. She worked for C.R Anthony Co. and White Cleaners as a seamstress for a combination of 44 years. After retiring she set up shop in her home until 2005. She is preceded in death by her parents Manuel Perez and Estefana Valenzuela and siblings, Enrique Perez, Alejandra Martinez, Beatriz Perez #1, Concha Perez, Anita Perez, Otilia Gonzalez, and Soledad Carrillo.

Surviving her are four children, Eugenio Herrera Jr., Genoveva Idolina H. Vela, Leonel Herrera (Hilda), and Maricela H. Ramon. Also surviving her are grandchildren, Daniel E. Ramon, Adrian Ramon, Julio Vela (married to Kim Lee Vela and parents to 3 children), Joel Herrera, Jessica H. Flannigan (Tom Flannigan), Jason Herrera (Amber), Gabriel Herrera, Gina Nicole Herrera, Morgan Lewallen.

She is also survived by seven great grandchildren Lincoln Lee Vela, Cruz Young Vela, Zachary Julio Vela, Jase Herrera, Allison Herrera, Austin Flannigan, Ellie Flannigan.

Honored to be pallbearers are Daniel E. Ramon, Adrian Ramon, Julio Vela, Jason Herrera, Gabriel Herrera, Joel Herrera.

Viewing will be held on Saturday December 17th, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM followed by the Funeral Worship Service at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home (26873 N. White Ranch Rd. La Feria, TX 78559. Ph: 956-797-5500). She will be buried at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery on 14166 E. Business 83, La Feria, TX 78559.
