Billy Dwayne Greenlee, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a true patriot, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on December 25, 1943, in a small town where he first learned the values of hard work, determination, and perseverance, Billy's legacy is one of remarkable achievement, selflessness, and love.
Billy’s journey in life was not one of convenience, but one defined by resilience and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. At the age of 17, Billy made the bold decision to leave high school and serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force. Over the course of his distinguished 20-year military career, he not only demonstrated courage and dedication, but also furthered his education, earning his GED, Bachelor's degree, and Master's degree through the opportunities provided by his service. His remarkable work ethic and commitment to bettering himself led to his recognition as one of the "Outstanding Young Men of America" in 1975—an honor that underscored his tireless dedication to both his career and personal growth.
Billy’s greatest source of pride was his 40-year marriage to his devoted wife, Linda Greenlee. Their partnership was a testament to the enduring power of love, commitment, and mutual respect. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and shared adventures.
Beyond his military service, Billy lived a life rich in passions that brought him great joy. He was an avid golfer, a skilled fisherman, and a lover of the thrill of the game—whether on the golf course, at the card table, or with a roll of the dice. His love for life extended to the dance floor, where he could often be found celebrating with friends and family. His sense of humor, warm heart, and infectious enthusiasm left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Billy’s legacy is one of quiet strength, unwavering integrity, and a deep love for his family. He approached life’s challenges with grace, always seeking to be a better version of himself and inspiring those around him to do the same. His wisdom, humor, and kindness will be sorely missed, but his impact will live on through the lives he touched.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife, Linda, their children Alisha Carr (Ryan), Robin Bejar (Robert), Tanna Millsap (Todd) and Linda Reed (Alan), 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, his brother Marty Greenlee and countless friends whose lives he enriched.
